Race Info
The race will begin at 7:15 am on March 31st. The race cost is $70. Please note the reduced race cost this year. Everything else in the world is getting more expensive. We wanted to give you something at a lower price for once.
Packet pickup will take place the morning of the race at the start line. Packet pickup will begin at 6:00 am.
This is a 12 hour race. The amount you run is totally up to you. If you want to push yourself for 12 hours, go for it! If you want to run a little and then take a break, feel free to do that as well. If this is your first ultra or trail run, you picked a great event! The scenery at Twin Lakes is hard to beat.
The 10mile option is simple. You start at the same time everyone does and complete 4 loops. When you finish that, you’re done.
The relay option is for those people who don’t want to run 12 hours on their own. The number of runners on your team is up to you (as long as it is 2-6 members). The runners can be either male or female. Every runner must run at least 1 full loop. Runners do not have to run the same number of loops as their teammates. Teams may switch runners every loop. Teams will be tracked by total number of laps completed. The first place team will receive an award.
The cost of the race includes a t-shirt for every participant, food and admission to the park. There will be finisher’s awards for those runners who complete or 50 miles. 1st and 2nd place awards will also be given for men and women. These awards will be given at the conclusion of the twelve hour run. Runners who earn an award and are not present will not receive the award.
The race is run as a loop course. It is a 3.5 mile loop. This makes logistics for the runners (and race director) fairly easy. Approximately every 20-40 minutes you will come back to the starting point. After making sure your loop is counted, you have access to the single aid station and any gear you wish to use. This is a cupless race. Aside from Coke and soup, there will be no liquids in cups. Runners should make sure they have an adequate ability to carry liquids. This keeps the course clean and makes life easier on my volunteers. A gear drop station will be identified for your convenience on race day.
The run begins at the boat dock at Shelter 2. This is in the main section of the park. Spectators are encouraged at the start/finish line. Runners must be 18 years old. Pacers are allowed at the Race Directors discretion.
